Sorry, the last problem is still there, I believe. The test condition in line 460 is
if tat_lesson_number < 8 and pcs_mana >= 1000: does not allow to take lesson number 8 (the very last one).

Started a new playthrough, visited Tatiana and choose the "teach" branch. However, tat_lesson_number is zero and lessons result in empty screens.

This is not fixed, unfortunately: tat_lesson_number is zero for a new playthrough, "Time for a lesson" action results in a blank screen.
